Starting on Wednesday, June 26, 5 pm at the AMA Lounge (Central Library), Prof. Martin Stokes from Kings College London presents his three lectures on "Listening beyond landscape".
Martin Stokes is King Edward Professor of Music at King's College London. He studied music and social anthropology at Oxford and taught at the Queen's University of Belfast (1989-1997), the University of Chicago (1997-2007) and Oxford University (2007-2012) before joining King's College London.
In the series of three public lectures, I will discuss both recent and ancient thinking about water and its relationship to landscape, cities and human life, focusing on my recent research along the Euphrates.
