‘AFRICAN PRESENCE’ SPECIAL: JAZZ AGAINST APARTHEID

A brand new episode of African Presence Special with Globalwize host Jean Trouillet and African Music Archives (AMA) Director Hauke Dorsch is online. Jean and Hauke are joined by their guest Jürgen Leinhos, who has been organising the ‘Jazz against Apartheid’ concert series for almost 40 years. The three introduce us to music by South African jazz guitarist Johnny Dyany, celebrate the 90th birthday of South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim – and get a foretaste of the concert series in Frankfurt and Darmstadt from 21-26 October.
